The Avoid List — Projects Brickplot Scored Below 5.0
Editorial Watch-List
The Avoid List
Every project Brickplot has scored below 5.0. We won't protect builders from their own projects.
Why We Publish This
Every competitor builds their product around shortlisting — "here are the 5 best projects in your budget." That works until you realise shortlisting is what their revenue model requires. They can't afford to tell you a project is bad, because the builder they'd have to tell on is paying the bill.
Brickplot does not take builder money. Not for placement, not for lead-sharing, not for "sponsored reviews", not ever. That means we can do the thing no commission-driven platform can: we can publish a list of every project we scored below 5.0 and tell you, plainly, to skip it.
This page is the clearest demonstration of what editorial independence costs us — and what it buys you.

Legal & Editorial Disclaimer
Scores reflect Brickplot's independent editorial opinion based on publicly verifiable data — RERA portals, court records, RBI/escrow filings, and on-ground construction audits. Projects can and do improve. We update every score quarterly.
If you are the builder of a listed project and believe a specific fact is wrong, write to editorial@brickplot.com with documentary evidence. We correct errors of fact within 5 working days. We do not negotiate on editorial verdicts.
Questions Readers Ask
Why does Brickplot publish this?
Because the cost of staying quiet is borne by families who lose their life savings to a bad project. We believe the only ethical default for an independent review portal is to publish the verdict — especially when the verdict is "don't buy this".
How is a project added to this list?
Automatically, by the scoring formula. A project lands on the Avoid List the moment its final weighted score drops below 5.0. No editor can keep a project off this list by choice. No builder can keep their project off this list by payment.
Can a builder pay to be removed from the Avoid List?
No. Not for any amount, ever. Brickplot has no mechanism, inbox, form, account manager, or private channel through which a builder can pay to change a score. If any Brickplot employee is ever offered such a payment, our policy is to publish the offer on this site with the builder named.
Isn't this risky for Brickplot — legally, reputationally?
Yes. We accept that. An independent review portal that won't publish its Avoid List is indistinguishable from a broker site with better graphic design.
