The four corridors, the four authorities
- Mysore Road (NH-275) — BMRDA up to Bidadi, thereafter DTCP KA via Ramanagara municipal councils.
- Hosur highway (NH-44 south) — BMRDA inside KA till border; past Attibele you cross into TN where DTCP TN applies.
- Sarjapur–Kanakapura spur — BMRDA jurisdiction with pockets of gram-panchayat.
- Chandapura–Anekal outer — primarily BMRDA, plus panchayat layouts commonly mis-labelled.

Red flags in the extended belt
- "DTCP approved" used in BMR zones where DTCP KA has no jurisdiction
- Cross-border Hosur plots pitched as "Bangalore plots" — TN stamp duty, TN DTCP, TN patta apply
- Gomal / Gomala (grazing land) still in revenue records despite sale
- Elevated tension-line corridors running through the middle of layouts
- Revenue-road (kachha) access instead of gazetted PWD road
